There are still large sections of the Payette and Boise national forests that are open for the Labor Day weekend and not affected by the large wildfires in the region.
Campgrounds that are open this weekend include the Lake Fork Guard Station, Upper Payette Lake, Last Chance, Hazard Lake, Grouse Campground and Cold Springs, plus all the campgrounds on the Council and Weiser ranger districts.
Kennally Creek Campground east of Donnelly has been reopened, as has Kennally Creek Trails Nos. 101, 099, 102.
Warm Lake Road and Johnson Creek roads are open intermittently only to residents and firefighting traffic.
Warren Wagon Road remained closed east of Secesh Summit to non-residents, and Lick Creek Road remained closed east of Lick Creek summit west to Yellow Pine to all non-emergency traffic.
